Final Artist Statement

I feel I was most successful with taking Photos and blending them together, I think I was most successful with this because I found it the most interesting. I struggled a lot with memorizing the different tools on PhotoShop and there means beacause they all seemed so different.

Blow Out and Panning

We used the ISO for our blow out, I think that you can do a blow out with Aperture.

Shutter Speed

Shutter speed allows you to be in more than one spot in a picture depending on the speed its set on.The setting in to room has to be dark in order to make ourselves standout with a flashlight. We set our camera to a higher ISO and a higher speed. My experience with using Shutter Speed was fun and there can be a lot done with Shutter Speed. My favorite Picture was the last one because it looks like were fighting with ourselves.

Flash

The pro's for using flash is you can capture many small images than you can without flash. The con's for using flash is that your photo can come out too bright that can give other space shadows.
Flash is a good idea to use when out at night and there is no lighting to reflect to the image you want to caputer
Flash is not a good idea to use during the day time becuase the lighting of the sun is already enoungh for a photo and you dont want too much lighting
The picture is better without flash because there is already enough lighting from the street lights.

Metering

I think Light Meter is similar to flash but there are different types of flashes.
In the photos I choose from the internet the bottom photo is not using metering light and its darker than the photo on top it's using metering light and its brighter.
Spot Meter can help me in the future to give a photo a sertain lighting.

Surrealism: Underwater Life

1.) Interpret the Dream: This person feels her life filled with so much space and opportunites but doesn't know where to start her path she feels shes underwater and cant be set free. She see's no limits in life but yet she feels there is no where to go, she's lost and feels lonely. She has wings to fly but doesnt know how to properly use them. The car represents the things she had and the swing has the meaning of feeling to jumping off and flying away.

Surreal Practice Tutorial

The different things we did to the Desert tutorial to make it look realistic was making the ground look up close to farther. The other thing we did to make this Tutorial look realistic was dropping the shadow on the light post. And I think the clouds look realistic but we did really work on that. (:

Art Show "School Meltdown"

I choose this picture to be in the Cesar Chavez Art Show this year because I feel that many student's can compare a point in their live's going to school and having a meltdown towards a class assigment. "School Meltdown"('s) is that day that you just dont feel like doing your work because of an issue at home or just for being lazy.

Personal Quilt

My Quilt

Outside

Inside

Past

Future

I had the idea that my quilt squares would feel real and alive, I feel that the ideas I had for this project weren’t well presented the way I wanted them to be. However I like how they come out too look and I feel they are good enough to send the massage I wanted to send out. I am not content with my first quilt square because I feel that there is no connection. My favorite quilt square is the future; I feel it gives off the exactly meaning I was trying to give. My least favorite it the outside me, I feel I could of done better. I struggled the most with trying to put my ideas into something I’d like; I overcome my struggles by letting myself feel comfortable about how others and I see myself on the inside and out.

I could compare my past and my future because they are similar in a way getting over the past in a struggle as to the future I’m struggling to get into the future but also they share the difference of getting caught in the mix of the aspiration. The feeling I expressing in my inside and outside squares are different in a way of misleading paths, how people see me is not who I am inside. I feel that the outside and the inside of my personality are two complete strangers. I wasn’t really surprised of what others said of me because I know that I hide my genuineness sensations and that the kind of person I am because of my past.

The main symbols I used throughout my work are plants (including sun) but the strongest were the trees and my wings. I use these symbols to express the beauty of life and the beauty of the inner me but many of the symbols can be obscure to the untrained eye of mind.

I could say I was moderately honest with my expression in each of my quilt squares; it was very difficult for me to express myself visually because I didn’t really have a real image in my head of how I wanted each of my quilt squares to come out.

Visually what I like about my quilt squares is the mysterious overview of it all. I think the strongest part of my quilts is the trees.

One of the newest tools I used using Photoshop was the Fill. I think I got better at was blending and learning how to put together different pictures. My favorite trick to use throughout my squares was the blending tool.

Overall my experience throughout this project was to express yourself from the inner side of you. If I could change anything while doing this project would do my quilts more simpler, but I would keep the ideas the same.
